Stay - March 1-5, 2021 Pros: As advertised. Lived up to its reputation. Unreal guiding staff. A special shout-out to Julien who made the trip special. Amazing staff overall. Location is unreal. Backcountry skiers paradise. Can cater to all levels of back country skiers (in my opinion definitely have to be a solid intermediate or better to appreciate the skiing here and more importantly ski safely). Food was great. Serving sizes were more than adequate. Clean. Cons: A note to management (Guy et al). I can only speak for the beds and pillows in the Coleman room but Im assuming they are all the same - they were both inadequate. The bed is clearly at the end of its life. In my opinion the most important part of the room is the bed. Our bed was clearly dead - one can see and more importantly feel the sagging of the bed on both sides. The springs are clearly at the end of their life. Very uncomfortable sleeping position. Definitely warrants renewing the beds if they are all like this. Especially for the 700 dollar/day price tag (for a couple). The pillows were flat and uncomfortable.

This review is significantly delayed so I apologize. Back in July of 2020 my friends and I came here for a 1 night stay adventure before heading back to Toronto (home). We thoroughly enjoyed the landscape, hikes, services, amenities and super friendly service. On the last day, 3 hours before leaving, my friends and I decided to enjoy one more of their many amenities and decided to go mountain biking. It started to rain heavily which made the ride 10X more fun! Zipping and sliding thought the mud we had a blast!! Once we put our bikes away, I realized I had accidentally dropped/lost my phone somewhere along the trail. Keep in mind we had roughly one hour left before departure. I'm not a phone junky, so I told the staff what my phone looked like, the location of the specific trail where I lost my phone and gave them my Toronto home address to mail it back if they ever found it. Fast forward to the next day, we are on the 401 in Ajax stuck in traffic and my friend gets a phone call from Chic-Choc, the friendly voice on the other end said " We found your cell phone". Apparently, after we left, the manager sent a few staff out on ATV's to actually LOOK for my phone! I few days later I got it in the mail in perfect working condition. I still cant believe this happened. I bought a lottery ticket that day, that's how lucky I felt! I wanted to give a big thank you to the staff and wanted to say that it was truly an memorable time that always brings back the best memories.

Amazing hidden gem, with terrific guides, chefs /good, kitchen & maintenance staff. This is not your ordinary stay; it's for serious outdoor enthusiasts who don't mind working hard, no matter what the weather brings. I found the beds too firm for me... and squishier pillows too (please). It's quaint, super well-run, and Nick, JD, Greg, and Delphine were super guides.

Parfait pour une immersion en pleine nature, tout inclus : nourriture gastronomique, randonnées, service de guides, matériels, spa. Ce n'est que du positif, j'y retournerais n'importe quand.

Our second stay even better than the first. Guests are asked to park in town then board a shuttle for a 1.5 hour transfer by bus. The lodge is serene and exclusive. Hiking and biking at your doorsteps. Most guests participate in guided hikes but we went unguided. There are lots of options, and they change daily. The guests tend to be local francophone Quebecois. There is a sauna and jacuzzi (a little too popular imo). Sleep quality was excellent. The rooms nicely decorated. No wi fi. The meals were served family style with all guests seated at a large table. I asked ahead if we could sit alone and the answer was no due to their desire to create a certain experience (clearly dreamt up by extroverts with no regard for diversity) but the very kind staff approached me and offered a table set apart which we adored and removed the stress of small talk with strangers. The food was uncomplicated, plentiful and excellent. Especially the desserts which were truly perfection. A world class lodge run by staff who are exceptional. We will return!
